ROCK 'N POP
WHAT WE DO
At our inaugural meeting there was much discussion as to what its name should be (still thinking about that one) and the format of future meetings.
Many ideas were put forward and it was agreed that meetings should be varied with contributions from all members. Even though we found it quite difficult to define what constitutes ‘Rock and Pop’, we managed to think of these ways we might explore the subject:
‘Desert Island Discs’ - a favourite track or two with personal reminiscences and comment on social history
General memories of Rock events/concerts etc
Use YouTube/Spotify etc to find example tracks
‘My First Record’ and what it means to you
Pick a song and explore different cover versions of that song
Rock quotations/iconic images
As well as these suggestions, there are various free ’History of Rock’ on-line courses that some people might be interested in.
WHEN & WHERE WE MEET
We meet from 2.00 - 4.00pm on the third Wednesday of each month in a member's home.
