The u3a (formerly University of the Third Age) is a national self-help organisation for older people no longer in full time employment. It provides educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment.
There are now over 1,000 local u3a branches in the UK. Each operates in its own way, but members in all of them use their knowledge, skills and experience to set up and run groups in whatever interests them.
North Walsham u3a was formed in 2006 and now has almost 200 members living in the town itself and neighbouring towns and villages. We offer a very warm welcome, and with members' very varied backgrounds and experiences we are able to offer around 40 different interest groups. You can find out about these through our Groups page.
Following the ending of most government coronavirus restrictions in July, many of our groups are now meeting in person again and more will be doing so soon, while others will continue meeting online using Zoom for a while longer. You can find out more about this on our Coronavirus Information page.
Joining is easy and only costs £15 per year, or £12 if you are already a member of another local u3a. If you think you might like to join us, send us a message on the Contact Us page.
We look forward to hearing from you!
