What We Do

Improve balance, mobility, relaxation, and wellbeing in a calm and supportive environment. Led by Rachel Brown an experienced tai chi teacher who is practiced in working with people, who have a wide range of abilities.

What to expect

· Gentle warm-up movements

· Relaxing Qigong (breathing and coordination exercises)

· Practice based on Beijing International Short form – most popular version of Tai Chi in the world.

· An introduction to Tai Chi as a long-term, lifelong practice that supports both physical and mental wellbeing

No previous experience is needed. Tai Chi is suitable for most people, and options can be adapted for those who need to remain seated. A medical questionnaire needs to be completed for personal safety and reassurance for members

· The class is friendly, supportive, and suitable for beginners

· Focus on gradual learning — no pressure to “get it right”

Practical details

· Cost: £5 per session payment direct to the teacher

· Time: 4th Thursday of the month 4:10pm–4:50 pm

· Venue: St Benets Hall
